Nail it with the 'nailer' rig
It has incredible hooking properties...
The 'nailer' rig is a variation on a pop-up rig that offers incredible hooking properties and total resistance against interference from smaller fish.
It involves tying what is effectively a basic hair-rig, but with the pop-up almost touching the bend of the size 6 Genomic MGP hook. To complete this “aggressive” hooking angle, you then need to slide on a short length of Kodex shrink tube to the hook. After carefully steaming this over a kettle, you should then form a bend in the shrink tube, which creates a claw-like presentation.
It is then simply a case of adding enough Graviton putty to counter-balance your pop-up, so that it sits just above the lake bed. Give the 'nailer' a try and see what results it can get you - Team Kodex manager Mike Salisbury has been using it recently and had lots of success on it.
